Graduate Medical Education Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship

Victoria Bustamante Velez was born and raised in Cali, Colombia and earned her MD from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL). She completed her pediatrics residency at Children’s National Hospital in Washington DC, where she discovered her passion for Pediatric Endocrinology. Her clinical research has focused on Turner syndrome as well as bone health. If you don’t find her cheering on her favorite soccer team, you can probably see her enjoy the latest food trends in town! 

Yonina Frim grew up in Massachusetts and attended Barnard College, where she majored in Biology. Her love for Endocrinology began during her undergraduate years when she studied insulin release in mice. She received her MD from Harvard Medical School and completed Pediatrics residency at Massachusetts General for Children. Her recent research has focused on social determinants of health in diabetes. In her spare time, she enjoys paper-cutting, hiking, and perfecting her pizza-making with her co-chef and husband, Noah.

Maria Passarelli grew up on Long Island, NY, and completed her MD-PhD training at Weill Cornell / Rockefeller / Sloan Kettering in New York City. While there, her thesis focused on post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in cancer. She moved to Boston for Pediatrics residency training in the Boston Combined Residency Program. Academically, she is interested in post-transcriptional regulation underlying endocrine disorders. Outside of work, you can find Maria baking, singing, and either hiking or skiing, depending on the season.

Marissa Aaron grew up in Newton, MA and graduated from Tufts University with a BS in Biochemistry. She received her MD from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. She completed her Pediatric Residency at Connecticut Children’s, where she contributed to committees focusing on residency program improvements and worked on research in transgender care. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, curling up next to her cat Tilly with a good book, and exploring new foods and places with her husband Sam.

Katherynne Greve is from north of Memphis, Tennessee. She attended Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she earned her DO degree and co-founded a free clinic in Indianapolis, IN. After completing her residency at Ascension St. Vincent – Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, she was chief resident and practiced as a pediatric hospitalist. She is interested in all aspects of Endocrinology, particularly diabetes management, and her research has focused on pediatric obesity and diabetes. In her free time, Katherynne enjoys finding new hikes on her travels and following the US Women’s National Soccer Team.

Kaitlyn Shank was born and raised in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and earned her MD from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed Internal Medicine & Pediatrics residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital (BCRP) before starting a dual adult & pediatric endocrinology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. She has lived with type 1 diabetes for over 20 years, and her research has focused on immune checkpoint inhibitor-induced diabetes and care transitions in type 1 DM. She is interested in atypical diabetes as well as diabetes technology. Outside of the hospital, you’ll find her marathon running and spending time with her labradoodle, Maddie.

Melanie Babinski received her MD and completed her Pediatric residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She has pursued clinical research on type 1 diabetes in Haiti. In Melanie’s free time, you can find her running marathons or playing the piano at the Royal Conservatory. She is a true “foodie” and loves to explore new restaurants and try new recipes.

Sara Mazzantini was born and raised in Milan, Italy, and earned her MD from the University of Milan Medical School. After completing her pediatrics residency at Vittore Buzzi Children’s Hospital, Sara practiced as general pediatrician for two years at the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, Italy, where she also provided comprehensive care for patients with metabolic disorders. She is interested in all aspects of pediatric endocrinology, particularly issues of growth and nutritional disorders. In her free time, Sara enjoys traveling and managing a bustling household of five (which some say is the best Italian restaurant in town), all while trying to keep up with her Peloton.

Nessa Tantivit received her MD from Sriraj Hospital Faculty of Medicine in Thailand. She practiced as a general physician for 3 years in Thailand before pursuing a pediatric residency at the University of South Alabama, where she conducted research on childhood obesity. In Nessa’s free time, she loves to run and play basketball. She has been to 11 of the 12 Disney parks around the world and is planning to complete her list soon!

Arti Uniyal received her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College in India. She completed her pediatric residency at the University College of Medical Sciences and Chief Residency in Pediatrics at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Delhi, India. Her research has focused on dyslipidemia in children. Arti loves reading and music, including playing the sitar and listening to Bollywood and Korean pop. She also loves traveling and trying diverse cuisines and has visited more than twenty countries.

Dwight McCoy Diaz Chambers is from Nashville, TN.  He received his undergraduate and master’s degrees in Nuclear Science and Engineering from MIT before pursuing a MD/PhD from Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology.  His thesis focused on mechanotransduction and genetic approaches to treating pulmonary fibrosis.  He completed his pediatric residency in the Boston Combined Residency Program before joining the Endocrinology Division for fellowship training. Dwight enjoys alliteration and spending time with the five B’s of life – baking, bowties, board games, brother (Davis), and Brian (husband).
